Coronavirus/COVID-19 Information

Updated May 22, 2020

We understand that you may be concerned about COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and how it may impact your GED testing. We are monitoring the situation carefully and are following guidance provided by governing bodies, Pearson and Pearson VUE.

As countries start to open back up, test centers are starting to reopen as well. Some test centers remain closed, and all test centers will be operating under local social distancing guidelines from their local government agencies. We realize that it can be frustrating not knowing exactly what is open and when.

The best way to find an available GED testing appointment is to schedule a test. Only test centers with available hours will show up as available. If your preferred test center is not yet open, you can either wait until it does, or look for another open test center nearby. Please follow the advice and rules of your state when deciding when to travel to a test center outside of your local community.

In the rare instance that the test center where you’ve booked an appointment closes/cancels your appointment, you will be notified via email. At that point you will be able to call the call center to reschedule your appointment or request a refund. The call center number is 1-877-EXAM-GED (877-392-6433).

When you are ready to take a GED test at a local test center, we are asking test administrators and test-takers to follow the guidance below:

  • Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds prior to arriving at the test center, and after testing
  • Cover your cough/sneeze with your arm or elbow, not your hands
  • Utilize hand sanitizer when available
  • Avoid touching your face
  • Reschedule your test if you are feeling unwell or have symptoms such as a fever or respiratory difficulties

We are committed to the safety of GED test-takers. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide additional information as needed. Thank you.
