I can’t schedule a GED exam, what do I have to do?
If you’re not able to schedule your exam, it means you are not yet eligible to do so. A minimum score of 155 on GED Ready is required in order to schedule your exam.
What is the minimum passing score for the GED exam?
In order to pass the GED exam, the minimum score is still 145 for each subject. However, if you plan to apply to public university, the new requirement is now a cumulative score (all four subjects added together) of 660.
I passed all four subjects, but did not receive a cumulative score of 660. What can I do to achieve 660 in order to apply to public university?
You can retake an exam subject that you already passed to try to get a higher score. You must take all four exam subjects before requesting any retakes. Only one retake per subject is allowed.
Can I request a retake?
You can request a retake if you did not pass or if you want to get a higher score. All four exam subjects must be taken (even if you don’t pass) before a retake can be granted. There is a maximum of one retake per subject. Please click here for more details about requesting a retake.
If I don’t pass, how long do I have to wait before taking the exam again?
There is no waiting period if you do not pass a subject the first time. After taking a subject 3 times, you will need to wait 60 days before retaking the same subject.
